Scholarship Night

March 12, 2009 ( Thursday )

Topic:  Nobody Likes Bad Change

Presenter:  Craig Henderson

Craig Henderson is President and owner of SysteMental, Inc., a specialty consulting, implementation and technology firm headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN.  The company partners with executives of larger organizations to increase profits, reduce cost, and eliminate waste through the successful deployment of complex change initiatives.  Clients include local manufacturers such as Eaton Corporation and Superior Essex as well as other manufacturing, service industry, non-profit and government sector organizations across the globe.

Craig has more than 23 years of consulting, engineering, quality and production management experience, including executive level quality responsibility for a Fortune 500 corporation.  He founded SysteMental, Inc. in 2000 as an innovative service provider dedicated to “better implementation of change”.  Craig is known as a passionate integrator of people, processes and technology whose career and company are both driven by a strong belief in the power of cooperation to produce powerful results for the mutual benefit of all concerned - employees, organizations, and the communities where they reside.

Brief Summary of Presentation:

Research has shown 8 out of 10 executives who launch major change initiatives are dissatisfied with the results delivered by their efforts.  In larger organizations, “resistance to change” and “lack of implementation know-how” are two of the top obstacles consistently identified as blocking or weakening success.  The impact of these problems can be significant.  At the very least they cause excessive stress at work and in the worst cases can lead to business failure and the loss of jobs.  The presentation will describe how a positive look at “resistance to change” can make the path to success more clear, the journey less stressful, and each effort more successful.
